you just CAN'T go wrong with a 3b NT no matter what the year or color for 200-300 bucks

the bass I posted at the beginning of this thread had a bad pot on the board and instead of just re-soldering a new one for 3 dollars I wanted to experiment so a month later it FINALLY has the CMG preamp I bought off a TB'er in there now, and it is ready to go for playing at practice on Sunday.

I would normally be shocked on the sustain and full tone this thing has, but I have had another one for years. This one is no different and did not disappoint me either...

one thing that is VERY different between this one and all my others are the pickups. These have 4x the magnets and much more output compared to my Jackson branded pickups. A word of advice to the "tone seekers" >>> if you see the 85-86 exposed pole pickups on a junk bass, or have someone who will sell them to you C.H.E.A.P....they would probably make a nice difference on the passive basses output as well and a good alternative to a set of x-brand for 100+.

Very nice. Seeing a white 3B on eBay is what first got me hooked on the idea of getting a Charvel.

except for the goofy magic marker on the frets, it should be a fine player if all the electronics work, yes that is an 86 just like the one I just got.

from the pics on the bay, it looks like just magic marker and even if you left it, it won't affect the playability anyway.

What cabinet? I have the 8-10 cab but I also have an Accoustic 301(sealed 18 in) that feels like getting kicked in the chest by a mule (sounds muddy inside a 15 ft radius though,wouldn't recomend for small clubs/stages)
