  • Ok, who stole this bass from me!?

Bah, I asked the seller if he would do it for about 250 shipped. He sends me a message back saying he'll revise the auction and make it a buy it now.

I get on today, find his message, and find someone snatched it out from under me!

Fess up, who just got this killer bass!?

Not me, but $250 was fucking the guy IMO. That's easily worth $350+, especially if that's a White Winger or transitional Futura.

Not familiar w that model. Sucks it was taken from under you.

Doesn't ebay have a way to set up a BIN auction for a specific person? Or the buyer should have just revised his auction with a "best offer" option.

I don't think so. Sounds like the seller was going to revise it so thebigz could buy it, but he wasn't online at the same time to hit the new BIN when the seller did that.

I hope we are not bidding against each other on ebay items--I don't play bass and it wasn't me for the record. Would it be possible to have a section where members post info about Jackson and Charvel items so one member doesn't have to compete with another for an item of interest? Just a thought...

I think that'd be more likely to encourage the opposite. lmao

I hardly know J/C basses, but I want a bass, so I found that one. His starting bid was 200, so I figured it would be good all around. Now that I find out what it possibly worth I'd have paid more, but oh well.

                I really wanted that one.

nice white KW/Futura....and yep, if I saw a cheap bass on EBAY I would NOT NOT list it here or anywhere else...
in theory that is great to have a thread for "I want to buy this bass, please do not outbid me" BUT are you kidding??? :ROTF:

If you want it more than me you better be ready to top my max bid...bottomline, I guarantee if I saw that thing for BIN 239.00 at the moment I logged in, it would also have been mine and not vain's.
makes sense that it has a J1 1991 for the 1992 launch of the KW/Futura in 2 configs HH/EMG/Kahler and P/J-J2000/JacksonBridge versions.

Remember, anything you and the seller arrange is between you and him/her. If it was me, and I wanted to do what you 2 did, I would have made it a BIN only to you, not relist it for the public to snatch..( HIS MISTAKE ).

Yeah, I was very surprised to see the BIN on that Futura and I did wonder if the almighty Amimbari had seen the BIN yet.

No worries, I'm not mad (ok, maybe a little. Haha). I'm glad that at the very least a JCFer got it.

What I was trying to do was get the seller to just sell it off ebay so this didn't happen and he could have pocketed a little more money himself. Unfortunately, he kept responding through the ebay message system, not email, so I didn't want to suggest a deal off Ebay through ebay messaging.

Oh well. Hope it treats you nice!

You should have told the seller to close the auction with a "Best Offer" instead of revising the BIN. A seller did this a few months ago to an item I wanted. Ebay doesn't care as long as they get their cut...

I also had a seller do that for me with some home alarm equipment...like I said sellers mistake..He probably didn't know about that option....

and Vain, naw, I'm full of Jackson basses at the moment, and I really don't need another one for now

(but had I seen it, perhaps I would have anyway just cause of the price )

I saw this as a BIN on Sunday I think, contemplated buying it only because it was underpriced. But I already have a Futara that I rarely touch
