finally got around to getting the kahler installed with the HB pickup I bought months ago.

what can I say..price was right, time spent on it was reasonable and he was in the city so he delivered it.

Jackson used to make C/S models with a p/HB,

let's say this I took it to our show on Saturday.. Just like my old black Kahlered 2b I traded to Peabuddy here, the Kahler stays in tune after a bunch of divebombs, the output on the j-40 is like 5x stronger than that old J I took out with zero hum, and eventually I'll put a coiltap switch on it with a j-2000 preamp I still have in the parts bin. And yes it now does not sound like any of my other p/j's with the pups blended.

But for now, it's still a new toy and the other mods will come sooner or later.

Cool! I've got a couple basses just to play around with, but I'd like to get a Kahler on one just so I can hear what a bass divebomb sounds like! I bet a distorted one make the crowd wince!

thanks metalMedal. I had another one for years on my black 2b, but traded fellow member peabuddy here for his crackle 3b, so he has that one now...and yep d-bombs and pull ups with distortion is fun!!

I started this thread almost 4 months ago, and one of the statements was "I'm gonna put a j2000 in it"..well, I finally got around to it.
Instead of the Gibson switch, I just used the blend knob.


I will say, it now sounds like my 3/4b's. ( should have done it sooner -- )
