  • MY Concert BASS

HOPEFULLY,..this will let you guy's see? I bought this bass in 2001 at a shop in Beckley,WV and I wanted to find out more info on it when I bought the bass and I sent a picture and the serial# and here is what they sent me back. The build date on the Concert Bass is September of 1993. There were approximately fifty of those basses made and only about four or five that were coral sea. The original retail amount was estimated at $2124.95. The dealer who it went to may not have charged that exact price. If in mint condition ( Dang NEAR, If NOT!) and considering not many were made, the value should be quite high. That was sent back to me by a Karen Fox from Jackson/Charvel,Inc SORRY, can't seem to down load pictures but,..it's the same bass'color that is at the audiozones catalog, 1993.

since it was a USA unit, that could be true. 50 total seems pretty low, but they were battling the Jackson-Pro's which cost a lot less and were basically the same things. If you own one, nice find cause USA basses are always very nice to begin with, but too expensive still, even 15-20 years later.

Thanks, Yes I still own the bass and I have the letter also. I keep the letter in the case w/the bass. The bass is in mint condition and doesn't even have swirl marks or any blemishes. And your right, they are expensive still. My dream basses are the Concert V and the Thunderbird style. I know that I may not be able to afford one but...who knows, they may reissue the concert V?? Nice to dream huh?

well if a early 90's jap jackson-pro can't please you...I dunno what could

all those old jap-jackson soloist guitars sure have the guitar boys all panting when there is one available and I feel the same way about the jap basses, and no, that is not MY white C5 on ebay, mines sitting in the case next to "the oddball" Eliminator:

I say oddball because why they left out the ridge like the 4stringer is beyond me.

          .

AND, if that's not enough Jap Jacksons for you, I'd put this one up for playability on the neck and frets against a usa anyday

( I did not say tone, because I hate the emg sound out of those things even though they are 35p4 and 35j and suppose to emulate a p/j -- it don't ) but it sounds killer for what it was used for as I was in plenty of metal bands with it.

Sweet Five'r...Thanks for the heads up on the ebay deal. I would LOVE to get my hands on that one. You hardly ever see the Concert V's on ebay.

They made plenty more of the C5M-J-A whatever gumby series 5ers, but the point of this thread just came back. I would be fantastic if you could buy a pointy USA 5er for under 1500 in mass quantities again.

but in the mean time, there's a RED C5 on ebay today. I don't know what the seller has as a reserve, but it is there.....

I would buy it but the red is not the same red color as my Eliminator for the "novelty" of a pair, so nope, it's a free-for-all to check out.

300 is a good starting price for that cmg, I hope it gets at least 2-300 more before it's over

Thanks for letting me know how to post pic's next time. Have you ever seen this color ( Coral Sea) before? I haven't seen any Bass/Guitar from Jackson in this color before. That's why when I bought it, I wrote to Jackson and was asking about bass/color. I am so glad that I still have the letter from Jackson still with all the info. Love this bass BUT,...still would like to get a Concert V someday.

I could swear I saw a thread here with a guitar painted the same..I think that is very cool and just like the crackles...one of a kind as far as the patterns go even if there is another painted similarly.

Thanks again. The only time I have seen a bass in this color is on the Jackson's catalog scan.
