my model1 is truly a 87 with a 257588 serial and i'm pretty sure that is the OEM plate cause this thing was mint when I bought it years ago. You should modify your chart a little. -- if you remember ALL 86 model1's came with a HB at the bridge only, then in 87 it turned into a rev-p. so serial 257 is 3000 units below your 260000 number.

p.s. I never saw a model1 1986 in person before and the only one in 5 years I ever saw on ebay was at the moment in time I didnt even have the cash to buy it or I would have one just as a collectible. I did dump a j40HB in my model2 and I'm glad cause it removed the j-buzz totally, even using the split coil function.

Corrected, thanks. It was a typo. My notes say 250000 but yet I published 26....

I wonder how many were sold as 87's with leftover bodies? - or was it just the one wing they made too many of thinking they would get more orders in 86 since they had been using the same shit for the USA+C/S concerts because the old sharknecked 84-85's NT's I ever saw had the switch on the inside. think about that one when you look at any late 80's-90's C/S and it has the switch on the outside...

so, does that mean in 87-88 they retooled the machine to drill the hole on the outside of the wing so you could tell the difference between that and a 4b from a distance and left it that way for all the following years? maybe.

lot's of bass questions just like all the guitar questions facing them where there is no exact answer.
