I've been making changes to my CMG. Replaced the bridge with a Badass II, swapping the electronics out with seymour duncan blackouts. Plan on replacing the tuners with Hipshots. Was wondering how you go about knowing if its the right size and whatnot.

I never took a tuner out of any of mine to see what size the collar is. did you measure one of yours yet?

The only time I ever changed tuners on anything was a crap-Kramer that would not stay in tune and hard to turn. ( and then I just used a set of old Jackson tuners in it ...lol )
and a de-tuner for me is out of the question because my main bass has a Kahler on it
Hey Peabuddy, you still have my black 2b?

you do? and that dont throw the other strings flat?
if i'm in EADG and detune the E to D it makes the others go out.
shit I'm gonna go buy one and try it. I just tune the bass to DGCF and never thought about it.
worse case would be to put it on my other 2b or something else.

wow I always assumed since the strings are on a cam you flick the lever change the E tension and the other 3 move, at least it does when I just manually detune the E string.

the cam is whats supposed to keep it unlike a floyd type. my nontrem basses dont go flat when i drop d. and a step on just the e shouldnt change the others. what size gauge do you play? i use 40- 100 my guitar playerplays dinkys and half the songs are standard and the others are drop d. both with floyds so he has to change guitarsLast edited by peabuddy; 04-15-2012, 07:14 PM.The Truth Hurts Only If It's Supposed To !
