You gotta remember the E string in on the end of the headstock not next to the nut.

oh shit thats right i've been playing inverted strings too long.....

well then you would probably have to see if a righty would work as long as the shaft cleared the wood and you could turn the tuner and youd have one tuner on the other side so the lever wouldnt interfere with the next tuner down. i guess it would work, just look weird.

I'm old and can't remember. Let me go downstairs and see and take some pics and be back shortly.

you can't see it but yes there is a gap. it may be 1/64th but there is a gap. there is a "sliver" of spray painted black wood in there. I pulled the piece of wood out so you can see when I took the neck off. Sorry my cameraphone wont focus that close, and it makes the gap look huge, but it is sooooo small it never mattered.

I sold the red 1b as a loaded body only, so nope the pocket would have been too small and would have had to have the neck sanded or the pocket. the 2b neck is still sitting on my shelf as a spare if I ever needed it for anything else.

the CSM2B I just bought will be the perfect candidate for my spare pointy neck. I never liked the duckbill heads on those units especially cause the TR adj is at the bottom
I'll take some pics before/after when I get it.
