I'm looking to get another 5 string bass. I have a Warwick double buck 5 as my primary and a Jackson C5M as a backup. I like the Dave Ellefson model, but it only has 21 frets. I know that electronics can always be swapped out, but what is the construction and hardware of the JS3V like? Is it a solid platform for modding, like the SLX model guitars?

Is the JS3V series of basses good?

many people on talkbass have them, either they like them to death or hate them with a passion...depends I suppose what you like.

I got a JS3V about 3 or 4 months ago and it's fantastic for the price. I'm not primarily a bassist, but I do prefer it to an Ibanez BTB1405E that I won in a Sweetwater giveaway. That says something seeing that the BTB1405 is a $1500 bass, where I was able to get the JS3V for about $300.
