  • ARRRGHHH! I need a vintage Jackson Concert!

Hey! I'm new here at the forum. My name is Mattias and i live in Sweden, Europe. Not so many USA Jacksons or Charvels here at the second hand market, so Ebay is where I look for basses and spare parts.

I own a CMG but for the last year I've been looking for an american made Jackson Concert, but it seems impossible to find one. I want it to have the classic look of the late -80:s/early -90:s with P/J, 4-string, NT, active preamp and sharkfin inlays. I prefer black or QS, but thats not the most important thing. Refin is an option.

This seems to be the place to ask:
    - How many of these basses are out there? How often do they show up on Ebay?

I'm starting to think that I'm never gonna find one!

Does anyone here have any advice?

    Cheers

    /Mattias

Oh Am! Where are you?! Amimbari is probably the guy you should talk to and has an impressive collection.

Dont we all brother.....I just picked up a Charvel 3B to suit my needs. Ended up putting shark TOOTH dot busters to some what satisfy my needs! These basses are incredible in quality. Easier to find, I HIGHLY recommend these NT 3B's. I did own a 1993 Jackson Concert V Professional series but the Charvel 3B is superior in sound and quality.

My dream bass is a 1987-1990 USA Jackson Custom NT, I feel ur pain!!

I know Amimbari doesnt have any USA Customs but he has an AWESOME collection of Charvels and Jacksons.

My Charvel 3B with shark tooth dot busters and My older Jackson 5 string Pro series

I would look on music go rounds website, and sometimes even guitar center has some great stuff.
And thanks for the promotion of my small cache of charvels...and naw, I don't have any fin-necks except for my TBX.

Amimbari - How would you compare a 3B to a Jackson USA NT?

the both use the same center section. they both use poplar wings, they both use the same pickups and preamp. the ebony fretboard and detail is better on a usa concert from that era as well as custom graphics and paint that was not offered on the model series.. I never owned a bad 3b, but no fins.
