Just curious why these are so hard to find I thought there was a production model at some point.

there was a production model KB1/KBX but they probably didn't make 100,000 of them like the model series or concert basses.

the body is not as large as you think compared to the explorer they made. -- if you are that tall looking for a non-existent metal bass, you should search for a Takamine GB400

that TAK is my old bass. Someone on talkbass offered a good price so I sold it to him.
I don't think I will ever see another one, but at least I have plenty of pictures of it.

I don't understand why Jackson doesn't offer a Kelly bass option (not the Kelly bird option, even Ellefson isn't playing them as a sig bass). It is one the more iconic shapes Jackson has, and translates beautifully into a bass. Tried the custom shop and they wanted 6K street.
