and did I do ok? I'm a guitarist and wanted to pick up a Charvel or Jackson to compliment my Jazz. What did I buy? I figured for the price it wasnt bad but............

The price is great. It's a good bass, it should serve well for your bassline writing needs.

Its all good news. Should arrive tomorrow and we'll have a go with it and see how it sounds and plays.

Bass arrived today. Plays nice, neck straight, fast feel but the electronics seem a litte "bland" to me for lack of a better word. Should I upgrade the pups and if so, with what? I've compared the Charvel to my Fender Jazz and the Jazz has quite a bit more output compared to the Charvel. Any and all opinions welcome.

Lately I've been on a Dimarzio kick. I bought a set of P+J replacements that I put in a Hamer Scarab bass of mine, and absolutely love the tone and power I get out of them. Great passive pickups.

You could also consider adding a preamp (depending how much room is available in the control cavity.)
