How does a 2B compare to a 3B?

Looking for a 2nd bass to use for an alternate tuning.

I have a 3B that plays great and was wondering if anyone has had different model series basses and how they compare.
Primarily interested in neck feel.

3B being neckthrough would have a painted neck, which some can't get used to. The 2B had a gloss natural neck (bolt on), which is easier to strip and oil.
However, if you've already got a 3B, you already know whether it's easy for you to play or not.

Other than that, the neck profiles should be the same.
