Upgrading the Pickups on a C20

So, I decided to upgrade the Pups on one of my C20 basses.

I have Pro active's from Duncan (as my store is a dealer)
and I gutted the bass, and now the pups dont fit..
These are supposed to be a direct replacement set..
I ran ito the same problem when decided to replace the pups in a KV2 with active duncans...

GRRRRR I am going to route it to make them fit, as it should only take about two seconds with a dremel to make it right..

Only when I went to put covered Gibson pickups in JCF01. Had to chip away some paint in the corners to make them fit.

But then I haven't tried to replace the pickups in my bass.
