    I am trying hunt down a bass for a buddy of mine, i was wondering if david ellefson played a variant of http://www.jacksonguitars.com/produc...tno=2919003590

    or did he just have a sig or a custom in general.

    Im after info on any of the four strings he played

    i have emailed him before at his band site. f5 is the name of the band. he has always returned my emails , so ask him! really nice guy. he has gotten rid of his jacksons said he was playing fenders and has a signiture peavy bass

            How do the concert basses play? because the CMG concert bass is like £500+ overhere...are they worth it?

              AFAIK, Dave played neckthrough USA Concert basses, not the bolt-on imports, and I doubt seriously he used the CMG, though that is the closest you'll get to an early-mid 90s Concert Pro (which were and still are great basses).

              Only thing, the CMG appears to be a full-size Precision-style body, whereas the Concert bass was a Dinky-size bass body.

                I have an orange sunburst CMG that I have had for a few years. It is older, but not sure if it is pre-Fender or not. It is MIJ for sure. I dont know where the newer ones are made. I know they were really scarce for a couple of years. Mine plays really great. I have a good tech, and he set it up so it plays like butter. The neck is not as fat as a P, but not thin like a Jazz either. Somewhere in the middle. I love mine.
