Haha you got that right, man! I can play bass and I can play it one way. I have a really one-track mind and most of the time, it's a track I dig. And yeah--I'm still sweet 16! hahaha Well, 17 in January. In any case, one of those damned, dirty long-haired kids.

I HATE fenderhead anything basses, but my christmas present from my girl this year was a DAMN Fenderhead jazz-looking bass made by JJ Scott in the 70's lawsuit era. ( talk about 99% CLONE ) I say 99% because it has it's own pickups in it, not what fender used... I didn't complain when I saw how clean it is, and how beautiful the burst is on the thing. Will I modify it with new pups and stuff?....nope. I will keep it stock and jam the hell out of it for her for a couple weeks, then it will go in the case for the next decade... :ROTF:
I just love Explorers. I like them more every day. They're just comfy and you really don't see a lot of people with Explorer basses. They're kinda limited in their options, but they tend to suit me just fine.

THAT'S WHY I POSTED THAT! YOU NEED THAT KELLY TINO!
I would love that more than any other piece of gear I can imagine, Rob. Needless to say, I'm doing my best to get as much work as possible. My next quarter of school starts in less than a week, so I've got some time to work longer hours before it's time to hit the books again.

I think I recall seeing a picture of one of those somewhere...but what exactly does it look like? I haven't been able to find a photo of one. It sounds pretty cool whatever it is.

I think the BC Rich Mockingbird is one of the coolest gutiars on the planet...but now they don't make them cool anymore. You'd have to get a custom shop that's worth more than you in order to get a cool one. I'll just stick with my Hamer, for now.

Some day, i want a p+j or p+j40 humbucker kelly with a kahler trem. That'd be so cool.

So you've noticed that the sustain is better on it? Have you got an arm for it yet? Did you get a neck plate from the guy?

OMG I forgot about the Raspberries from 1972...

I'm doing a youtube video on one of the one-hit wonders this weekend FOR SURE to dedicate it to Eric Carmen, and Tino CBoots.

I love the way explorer basses feel. I don't think I've ever tried an explorer guitar...but explorer-shaped basses are the only ones that I can comfortably hold on a strap. They look wicked and not too many people have them, either. It would be so cool to be able to own an Alembic JE Exploiter one day, but I doubt I ever will.

    Who's Eric Carmen?

The most expensive bass I ever owned was a mint '76 Alembic Expoiter. I bought it from Eric Carmen's parents. He used it in a gay 80's video, and never used it again. I posted that vid a while back. I believe that bass listed for $4600 in 1976...wow!!

With that said, that fuggin' bass was beautiful, just absolutely beautiful! But it sounded like complete ass and it was so awkward to play. John Entwistle used them for years..and ruled with them.

That sounds like a really fun bass now, man. Damn...really GASin for a Kelly. It sucks they're so rare and that custom shops are so expensive.

Yep, typical Kahler huge bridge = sustainCity. and no arm yet, and the guy threw the plate in with it, so I just put it together, got the string height as close as I could before the frets were buzzy, adjusted the string spacing on it, which he had set weird, and now it's a DGCF monster with a .105 E string on it.

The plate serial says this one is a 1988, but all that was on the neck was 3 red stripes ( I doubt that has any bearing of the year ).

wait till after the holidays Rob, I'll may STILL trade you when the novelty wears off. The thing does make the sustain 100% better than the OEM Jackson bridge, but I still REALLY want a blue body, as the 2B is just a collectible, and not a main player...I got enough of those already.

have a safe and joyous Christmas, and we will talk soon enough <<< pretend it says newyear's and not birthday ---
you too mike, i only have 3 trems,,,,, for now ! lol
