Charvel Bass Serial Number Help!

Wow!!! That's the response I was looking for! The splotch looks and feels like the adhesive from a sticker, so it should clean up with a little elbow grease. Frets are in great shape, little to no wear. The neck has a little more relief than I would like, but should be fine with a little truss adjustment.

The bass itself is a pawn shop find, and the guy behind the counter (who turned out to be a huge crustacean from the paleolithic era) said tree fiddy (three fifty to the rest of you). It includes the OHSC. I think I can talk him down a bit, as it looks to have been there for a while.

They also have a 82/83 Ovation Ultra Bass for 225, which I may pick up just for the hell of it. There are two of those on the bay for 799 each, and they are in similar condition. Dunno if they have to OHSC for that one, but it does include a case of some kind. Pawn shop surfing pays!

I hope to have all the necessary basses in place, so I can finally sell you what you want Rob. Bob (leftybob) found me a lefty black 2b on a CL ad, If the guy is willing to use paypal, so if it's a scam I will be covered. I have been procrastinating for 6 months about what to do with my white lefty..swap the neck, keep it, play it as-is, flip the strings...I'm just overwhelmed with decisions lately, and what made it worse was I played 3 videos on youtube with it this weekend, and realized that the E on top, is still a novelty, and I'm not ready to fully embrace it just yet....

one more lefty guitar in my house will be the deciding factor where one of the righty ones will get sold off and replaced by real lefty model-series basses, but as you know they didn't make a lot of them, and they are hard to find.

My GASSSS 850xl bass went for 260.00, but I hate that red sparkle, and the silver sparkle one that just ended on ebay is just WAY too much at 560.00 for me... Find me a clean black LEFTY 850xl, and I'll give you almost anything you want..... ( was such an animal made )????

The 3B is mine! Went to the pawn shop and offered the dude 250, and walked out with her case and all. Just had to replace the battery and she was playable. The pots were a little scratchy, but a little electronics cleaner fixed that up. After some polishing she looks pretty good. The goofball who had her before tried to go Zakk Wylde and replaced the strap button on the upper horn with a lag bolt :think:, but some mandatory straplocks will correct that . Only other thing is the truss rod cover is missing. Anybody have a spare one lying around? If I can't source an original I'll just have one made to fit, if I can get some specs from one of yous guys. Also, there's some white stuff in the grain of the fretboard. Any suggestions on a good cleaning agent? Without further ado, here's the (crappy) pics:
