P pickup placement reversed on a 1986 2B?

ok heres a weird one gang:

my 2B is absolutely a 1986 body, the only year that they made it with the reverse P...ok fine, but as I looked thru the catalog scans, that picture has NON jackson branded pickups in it with exposed poles on both pups, so obviously someone down the line changed em out and threw OEM Jackson branded pups in it before I got it.

my question is:

what was in there originally -- anyone know?

It says here that they came with J20 (P) and J150 (J)...

Maybe it's kinda like how Ibanez changed small specs on some models in between catalog publications?

Have you ever taken the cover off of one of the OEM Pickups, just out of curiosity?

I was half expecting to see blade pole pieces. Don't know why.

Maybe they produced an exposed-pole version of their covered stocks for a short period of time? Is it possible that the bass in that photograph is a prototype?

it could be a proto for the picture, but it should still have jackson branded covers on it...in the other years scans it says the same thing j20 and j150 and shows the jackson covers...i dunno, that's why i'm asking...
