I will email EMG to find out exactly what is inside, and see what they say....
I understand that, I was just trying to help if they are not the same, then the info may be pertinent. Hey I'm a team playa' ! (If you don't get an answer from them, try StewMac)

i really dig the pont headstocks, its what one of the features that defines a jackson. the only thing i dont like is how close the tuning keys are to each other. it can be a pain in the ass when you want to use that tool to take off/on strings really fast, and the it keeps knocking into the other tuning keys. maybe a slightly longer/bigger headstock?

hi Jacob, larger headstock you say?.....

here's the small tuner shorter headstock on my 94 TBX, and the next pic is the large size tuner 87 3b NT. headstock is larger on the older model for sure but quick winders still get in the way.

and thank you for your kind comment on the tribute video I did for you the other day

I dig the bigger tuners. Something extra to grip on and they feel and look sturdier to me. If you try to wind them fast, yeah they can get a little in each others' way sometimes. But I think they're much more comfortable.

I bought one of these new in 1985 in black and white. It thumped for a while. The electronics were shitty. I had to send it back to the factory for a new pc board install...

I would love to know where it ended up.

naw, not important enough to me to get trapped in traffic cause I don't know anyone on the parade route that I could hang out at their house and scream and yell from the 2nd floor windows
