      • I posted this comment on the BTF, but not here, so here you all go:

I have no clue, but this new black2b I got is HEAVY!!! it weighs as much if not more than my 2b with the kahler, and there is a very noticeable difference between these 2 86 2b's and my 87 white 2b.

perhaps some leftover wood to cut the body out of for 86 models, or a different TYPE of wood used for the 86 models only, guitar or bass...

who knows, but tonight I'm gonna weigh them and see what's up.

              • New charvel day!!!!

ok so am I the most active poster in this forum?...perhaps

so without further delay, here's my latest a 1995 CHS. nothing on this thing is compatible with any of the 80's model series, the neck pocket is different, the wimpy non-jackson branded bridge is cheap with 1/2 the screws as the jackson branded bridge holding it on to the body, the stupid trussrod is in the heel, and although having a non pointy Jackson is a novelty, aren't string trees reserved for fender basses? :ROTF: j/k j/k j/k.

it does play perfectly, so for the 100.00 I paid, I'll keep her around for a bit, but my maple neck wont fit cause I wanted another black and maple, SO INSTEAD, I took the maple off my red 1b, and tossed it on my black 2b.

                .

Soak the headstock in water for a few weeks and warp it, then remove the string tree ... ha !

                  • ya Bob, active as in I have not run out of love or money just yet for these old Charvels.

and the string tree?...naw I'll leave it alone. despite the fact that I HATE FenderHeads, but who am I to argue with a "good" deal even though I cannot put the neck from my other basses on this one cause the body is cut differently

Well, if Jackson got off their asses and started a production line of Warrior basses, you wouldn't be

well, that might just spur my interest to change my "liking" of NEW-OLD Jackson stuff again, I always loved star guitars, and to have a warrior BASS, that didn't cost 2300.00 would be fantastic

                          Don't hold your breath....

They know they'd sell maybe 5 of those and then what??

                          Another discontinued failure. That's what.

                          • 5?, maybe 6 cause I'd buy one.... I guess for a couple grand a c/s would be cool. I'll look for an old Kramer Duke/Voyager, even though it's an old style pointy Kramer and not a Jackson, but it's a good "warrior" looking body.

I'll just have to fit a Jackson shark neck on a BCRich spider bass and have the ultimate pointy mutt,. and be done with it. :ROTF:

No...I think just 5. Including yours. I think 5 is being generous with the Warrior shape.

Listen. Jackson has NEVER sold many basses of any shape and they won't in the future either.

So it's Custom Shop orders or....deal with the imports.

                              Just the facts I'm afraid.

The market has spoken over the course of 25+ years. A real shame too because they build a fine bass.

Yeah they do construct excellent bass if they put their best into it. Ah well...the fewer the Jackson basses, the greater the share of honor.
