A waterslide decal is very similair to a temporary tattoo. It is printed on a thin clear paper using microdry ribbon ink. Microdry inks come in various colors including white and some metallic colors like gold and silver. You can clear coat it with professional looking results. I believe decals from Best Decals are made of vinyl so they are basically a sticker. I hears some people have tried to clear coat vinyl but it is so thick that it takes a great deal of clear coat and block sanding to level the clear with the thickness of the vinyl.
