  • Hardware swap on a SEXY SL2H.

Hello, not too sure if this has been posted before, but I'm needing some help converting my SL2H with chrome hardware to black hardware.

I've actually found alot of the stuff on eBay, but I need the nut size (not to sure) and I'm also trying to find that odd 3 way toggle.

    Any help would be apreciated.

    Here's the guitar.

You can take the nut off your guitar and it should say the size on the back. (IE: R3)

That guitar will look incredible either way!!! If you are really set on doing it, then go for it... as long as you keep all of the original parts you can always convert it back anyways. Goodluck and post pics for us!

Yeah, change it to black, you can do what you want with it.

                      This.

Or you can just assume it's an R3 like 99.99999999% of all Soloists. Since it's a custom shop I might bother to unscrew the 2 screws and check the bottom, though, but betcha it's an R3.

I don't know what you mean by the "odd 3-way toggle."

Are you looking for a complete switch in black?

Or just the new switch tip in black?

I have not been able to find those metal switch tips like Jackson/Charvel uses anywhere.

The switch is just a standard Switchcraft 3-way (short kind) and you won't find them in black, except the right-angle kind, from Guitar Parts Depot. You can get a regular old plastic tip for it. Or go steal one from Guitar Center. Wait, no I did not say that.

Grab one from the parted-out Charvel ProMods that are all over the bay. I think you can get them for $10 or so. Do a search for Charvel and you should find some.

That's a good point. Good old "reliablefender" probably has a few of those tips laying around.

It would be damned near impossible to find a gold Charvel/Jackson switch tip. Possibly special-order it from a dealer?
