SL2H with reverse headstock.

Hey guys, a question for all you Jackson USA experts. I came across an SL2H on craigslist with a reverse headstock - the first one I have seen and I have been looking for some time. Not sure if this is legit or if it has a neck off a dinky. It does read made in USA on the headstock. Does anyone know if they made SL2H's with a reverse headstock - I doubt this is a custom shop guitar. The guy wants 1200.

Anyone know of a killer deal on a SL1, Sl2H or even a DK1? With the soloists I prefer the trans colors because the headstock is killer.

The soloist(SL2H) is a neck-thru guitar and the Dinky(DK1) has a bolt-on neck. So, you can't put a dinky neck on a soloist. Either post some pics or a link to the craigslist ad and we can probably tell you what you are looking at. Also, you may be able to identify it by the serial #. As for great deals, Craigslist and E-bay.

Yes from time to time there were Soloist with rev headstocks.Usually a run from say Guitar Center or another music store that had a run of 10-100.There were a run a little while ago of Absinthe green rev headstocks Soloists...

Thanks, I had not seen one before. I am still asking him for the serial #, if I get one, not sure if anyone here can help me verify the guitar is legit. It certainly looks it.

Hey guys the serial number on this guitar is U16779. Seller says poduction date is April 06 - does this serial # seem legit?

Thanks! I've been looking for a trans green at the right price for a couple months, the reverse headstock is a plus! I will try to find out how many of these were made from Jackson. It could be rare!

Hey Jim, nice score! I believe these are fairly rare, and I remember Ed Roman had quite a few reverse head USA models from around that time frame. I bet this was one of those.

Thanks, Racer. I have emailed Jackson asking them for more information such as how many were produced. I suspect these are relatively rare and not easily found on ebay, etc.

I'd bet Ron is right and that one was sold by Ed Roman when he had a run of USA Select guitars, but with reverse headstocks. Certainly the next guitar made, U16780, was for sale on Roman's site and has the same spec. as yours:



U16782 was a trans. black reverse head SL2, incidentally.
