  • Welcome to the jungle - RR2019

I guess people will be shocked to realize where this one landed.

The guitar was really dirty and all the parts were rusty. I slowly took it apart and cleaned everything. It's in amazing original condition apart from the headstock chip. Work order 0742 - matches logbook. Jackson J80 & J50N pickups.
I replaced the original JT-6 with a mint one off Ebay - Big thanks to Brian for helping me to get it!

The poplar body on this guitar is very lightweight. I haven't gotten to play it much yet but seems to resonate well and has a lot of punch. Will have to come back to that later. The neck profile is very similar to RR0849 which is cool. More San Dimas feeling than Ontario.

For now I just put some black tape to hide the headstock damage. I'll decide later if I'm going to have it fixed at Amfisound.

The pics don't do the guitar justice...

There's a lot of variation between Jackson zebra and bengal finishes. Mostly they do a "lazy" version with fat stripes. This one is the closest I've
seen to the way Dan Lawrence did them on RR0849. This is also the first Custom RR I've seen pop up with a zebra finish and I've been looking forever. There have been some student models and also zebras that were not B&W. I also know of one with star inlays. But I've never found one with
sharkfins before. Dan Spitz used to have one though.

    Awesome. I love it.

Now, the one on the left is Zebra, and the one on the right is bengal, or do you consider it zebra as well?

Very cool Jani - does that mean you'll sell me RR0849 now then?

What a beauty Jani! I still keep drooling over it .

Aren't that KV on the right and the one that Dan had Bengals though?

As with everything related to 80s Jacksons there are exceptions but the ones that are
marked bengal often split from the center or at least are balanced to center with the sides loosely mirroring each other. On zebras the stripes can go through the entire body and they are much more random.

The King V in the pic is a cow though.

Oh, I see what you mean. But still, that KV and Dan's RR look more like Tiger stripes, than Zebra stripes. Atleast to me. And I prefer that type over the ones with center split.

Night and day difference from how it looked in the auction pics. Good job on the clean up and nice score.

Nice guitar as usual. I'm just in awe that you found a mint JT-6. I love the design of the JT-6, I think it is one of the best licensed floyd designs out there, but the metal they made them out of was garbage to say the least.
