Judging from the pictures on jackson guitar palace even RR0141 made in 1983 had the tail piece near the end of the guitar like my RR5 does. So I guess we can't blame Fender on it.

Are you suggesting that Leo Fender didn't invent a time machine in 1967, bury it in Glendale, CA, come back from the dead in 2012, dig up the time machine and use it to return to 1983 and make the modifications to the tailpiece in order to set up the eventual purchase of Jackson by Fender in 2002?
