  • Jackson USA Club?

Can I join or do I have to actually have the SL2H MAH TB in hand to be offical...

Link to some decent pics of this beauty..

Hopefully it'll be december I can finally get her home, but I am considering getting smallish shor tterm loan to get her sooner...

Played a normal SL2HT which made me really want to play this £1399 isnt cheap but normal SL2H's go for £1500 or more when you actually see them...

Hopefully this wont be the last usa I buy either...

No idea what that price translates to, but those are typically a large premium on top of a "regular" SL2H, so, it sounds like you're getting a smoking deal!

It is not a bad price , it would be high for the US , around $2100.00. Are you sure that is a SL2H-MAH ?. It looks to me like a regular soloist in alder with maple neck . The neck should be the same shade as the body . The neck in those pictures are way to light to be mahogany IMO . I own a USA SLS , MAH neck and body , and and it is uniformed in color and shade across the body and neck . Here is a few pictures of a SLATQH , which is the same , mahogany neck and body . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...b/DSC00443.jpg

        Mah or not?

Ask them to check the hang tag that comes with the guitar, it should include what model it is.
Even if it states SL2-MAH, it probably isn't.
(if mahagony is not a must, then go get it)
For reference; my sl1's back. (alder/maple)

£1300.. Given the current exchange rate, I can get a used mint USA Jackson from USA for much closer to £1k including shipping and taxes. I suppose it depends on how bad you want it.
            Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

Im paying for it on layaway or something pretty similar, I dont mind buying new guitars from the US but i'd have to really trust the seller buying used never seen a USA select in the uk for less than £1500 fairdeal music have an SL2HT for £2000 odd and I know the flame tops add a premium just like with the imports, plus I actually got to check it out up close...

If I send the serial to Jackson I guess they would be able to ID it as a regular SL2H or MAH...

And dont forget import tax and VAT even if a guitar costs around $900-1200 us you'll end up paying 150-300 in duties bringing the price closer to nearly new prices....

I paid about 200 in duties for an sls-3...

Still Im super excited and its probably the first axe i've loved how it looks with chrome on...

I said the prices I paid included taxes, ie: VAT and import duty (plus £8 handling fee). If you're paying it off via hire purchase/finance agreement, you're happy to pay the interest too.

No it's not a higher purchase or finance they make you pay 10% then give you three months to pay the rest off though theres a tax hike come Jan guessing the govt are putting vat back to 17.5% again...

Still most of the second hand jacksons I see on ebay are plain colour or graphics I do want to get another hopefully an sl2h in blakc ghost flames as I've always loved that colour...

Plus there's always a risk of the guitar getting damaged in shipping adn depending how they ship it hassles with customs, or if they use ups you pay full whack...

Didnt you get your USA's for really cheap at a time the exchange rate was much better too..
