My Q is didn't the EPA stop the crackle finishes in 90-91?
86-89 on USA's was the heyday of the crackles IIRC.
This one could have been an unfinished left over and completed later on.
I had a 90 RR that by all indications was made earlier say 87 because it had a Kahler and the big pick up rings.
I've seen crackle finishes on other manufacturers guitars, BC Rich for one. Who did it first?

I thought 90 was the crossover year for the large to small pickup rings? I have an 89 with large and a 90 with small.
