Not to mention his 5 kids are sitting home all bundled up in extra socks and sweatshirts cause he can't afford to turn on the heat. He needs to start a charity drive for home heating oil, not guitar fixing/custom shop wish lists.

Yeah, he kinda lost my sympathy when he asked for the Custom Shop 7-string.

This has to be some sort of a hoax..... I don't usually make these assumptions but in this thread:

http://www.jcfonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98156 the dude talks about the serial number and address on the neck plate. There is no way he could have memorized it..... and if he saw it when he made his post.... the guitar should have been in a million pieces and he would have noticed it then, according to his story.... sorry, but I claim hoax.....

Besides, even to assume that he did put it in a closet and never opened it for a long time, in transit, there would have been some strange noises coming from the case id it was indeed in that many pieces.

As soon as it was handed to me I would have taken a half of a second to get it open and look it over. But then again my step son has alot of my old gear on loan, and I know if I have him there when I go over it he might learn something about care for a guitar. I'm like the rest of you guys on this, I think there's a turd in the punch bowl on this one. But I'm so cynical about everything.
I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

I'm very cynical too, but at first I thought the dude had experienced some genuine misfortune. Until I did a minute amount of research and found that thread.

Yeah, back in September he wanted to know how to put a non-tremolo bridge onto it.

Today he wants a 7-string hardtail kitchen sink Custom Shop Jackson, with a sustainer, and a whistle tip muffler.

I am also somewhat cynical and I'm not sure I buy the story, but even if it's true, I give the guy a big THUMBS DOWN for using his misfortune as a means to post a tearjerker story on the web and try to get a neat-o Custom Shop Jackson.

You're a jerk, "Jay." You should have stopped at "a couple hundred bucks to get my guitar put back together the way it was."

                    Outstanding sluething!
                    (Is that a word?)

He could have made a lot of progress in bareknuckled repair in the length of time he took to make up that post on his blog.

Billz, 'scuse me, but I gotta say it.

So let me make sure I have this straight. The OP has:
                        - 5 kids
                        - No job
                        - Idiots for friends.
                        - A guitar that he can't put back together himself nor can he afford to pay someone else to do it.
                        - A "desire" for a $5000 custom Jackson

For some odd reason, I am not compelled to send him money.

                        :ROTF:

I like his reasoning behind the donations - "Send me your lunch money and you can just pack a ham sammich for lunch like a fucking loser and skip the trip to Burger King"

Hell I was gonna offer to do the repairs for free since I'm only a couple hours away till he got to the stupidity.
