When I first got into playing Jacksons, the trans finishes I saw were all quilted. I even once saw a trans black quilted WR1. If I am to find a quilted top USA other than the current SL2H-MAHQ, what build year should I be looking for?

The vast majority have been flame-tops, regardless of year. Other than PC1, etc., check the catalogs here...

The only non Custom Shops I can think of are the SLATQH , SLAT-90 , Sweetones and the late 90s DK1 HSS . All were available with a quilt top and all are hard to to find .Mike
