  • Who's got a trans red kelly?

I'm really GASing over finding a pre fender KE2 in transparent red. It seems that this wasn't a very popular finish as I don't see these around at all. I can't even find pictures on google images.

Anyone want to post pics of your trans red Kelly? Heck....if your kelly has a trans finish in any color, lets see it!

I have one on order, supposed to be here first week of February. Ordered it in August. Obviously not a pre-Fender, lol. I have a pic of one, I'll post it in a little while when I get a break.

Obviously this is a custom shop order? According to the Jackson website, trans red is no longer available, just the god awful green.

Actually, it's not custom shop. My dealer asked McD if they could do it, and he approved the color. It should have been here in October (that's when my dealer was expecting it), but there was a problem so it's behind schedule. Here's the only pic I could find of a trans red KE2.

Hey, I think the green looks awesome!

Well I suppose it's a good thing that not everybody likes it, things would be boring if everybody liked the same stuff...

Wow, that is nice. I want a guitar in that colour! I have been tempted by trans reds, but I usually think that they're just a bit too bright. That one is perfect!

Here's a trans red KE2 pic for you.

And here's a prototype KE1 that was built for NAMM.

                Hope that helps!

Thanks, now just if one would pop up on Ebay about now......

I have an idea of eventually getting a trans red KE2 ( when I find one eventually) and would like to do a ghost flame paint job over the trans red, and I'm talking true ghost flames that are subtle. Anyone else think this would look good?

Anyone know of a good guitar painter where I could ship said guitar too? Or just look for someone local?

When I think styled realistic flames I think Mike Learn. When I think ghost flames I think Dan Lawrence. Both have been painting Jacksons for many moons and knocking off socks.
