I'm certainly no Peace-nik but I happen to like the symbol itself...Iconic, quite apart from it's political implications.
Some of you may remember THIS trainwreck of a graphic! Built in 1989 for endorsee Michael Raphael of Jailhouse
With these inlays
Loved the neck and the Tie-die Peace signs but hated the rest of the graphic and the H-S-S layout.
My idea was to have a 1 -hum, Floyd body done up with the Peace signs and then...slap the neck on it. Simple eh? Well it didn't work out quite as planned.
The unusual Purple (with blue pearl) color on the original guitar proved impossible to match...Dan & Glenn did their best, but in the end I couldn't use the original neck because the color was an obvious mis-match.
All's well that ends well however...I had another CHOICE Jackson neck I had been saving for just the right project.
The Body: Progress pics at DRL Graphics. Graphic by Glenn Matejzel.
For those who don't know, he's the guy who painted Warren DeMartini's original Crossed Swords and Blood Skull guitars among MANY other artist guitars back in the San Dimas Era.
The finished Product...while not exactly as envisioned. ...still another home-run by the DRL crew. The neck & body joined up perfectly and the guitar practically assembled itself.
I had Glenn paint up a ring & Duncan TB-11 to match but in the end, it looked better with a black Duncan IMO.
I couldn't be happier with the result.
