Hey jp259, yeah it took a little more than 6 months. I ordered it in August and they approved the color, but something happened and either it got lost in the system (I heard their Custom Shop computer went down at one point and they were playing catch up once they got it running again), or their was a breakdown in communication at Jackson. McD approved it, and then I think someone said they couldn't do it. I'm not real sure about the whole story or the holdup, but calls were made, my dealer met with them at NAMM and things got moving again. We actually expected it in October. That's when we found out their were problems. I have to give huge thanks to McD because he took care of everything on their end and bent over backwards to make it up to me. Jacksonite is great to deal with, class guy. Can't say enough good about him, lol. If you go to the "cartoon lounge" page on facebook, there is a pic of that Bich I was talking about, from back in 1983-84 I think. Some pics of me from back in the day too, lol. Yeah, this KE2 has become my main guitar, it sounds better than anything else I've got. It's also been a long time since I had a German made Floyd, too, and I'm really digging that, lol.

jp259, I love the EMG's and I've thought about putting them in my KE2. I have EMGs in my Les Paul Custom and my Flying V (which I'm going to sell shortly, lol). I love the Warrior shape too, I've thought about one of those as well for my next one, but I'm still loving the KE2 and it's tone. Although, back to EMGs, for recording I've been able to get a better sound using passives. I used my RR5 and a KE5FR Jackson loaned me to record some stuff a couple of weeks ago, and they sound better than my LP recorded stuff. I'm still toying with the idea of EMGs in the Kelly though. I'll probably put in a Duncan Distortion here shortly because that's whats in my Rhoads. I'll put up a pic of the guys Rich Bich here shortly too, gotta go find it, lol.

I hope this doesn't get moved because it's not a USA Jackson, but this is the pic of my friend and his B.C. Rich Bich back in 1983. His guitar is partly why I wanted trans red on my KE2. This is a great looking guitar with a quilt top. Looks great under stage lights. I'm in the picture on the left, wearing blue spandex (what was I thinking? lol) playing a B. C. Rich Stealth.

LOL, yeah I know. But it was the early 80's and we were buying whatever we could afford to dress in, lol. The parachute pants were a bad idea in retrospect, lol. I had a pair of blue and purple spandex that I found on sale in a woman's clothing store in the early 80's, lol. THey were the only colors they had, so I bought them even though I wanted black, lol. Funny story about the blue ones - my wife first saw me play when I was wearing the blue ones at a show in 1983. She said she was hooked, and we've been together ever since. So I try not to knock the blue ones too much, after all, they got me my wife, lol!! I wish I still had those Riches, though.
