I know art is subjective, but Peter Max's work just doesn't do it for me.
And whatever you do, don't let him near your vintage 'Vettes...
In 1989, VH1 gave away 36 vintage Corvettes in a contest. The winner sold those cars to artist Peter Max, who let them rot in a Brooklyn parking garage for twenty years. The cars recently disappeared. This is their story.

      +1

Doesn't matter who painted it. I'd rather have that level of Graphic Artist's work in an easily-sellable format such as a framed canvas. Easier to find a buyer for without the "oh, it's a guitar" stigma holding the price down.

And yeah that straight-pull head is great, except for the angle of the High E.

As a vette fan, that ticks me off. If there is a 63 split window in there, the man needs to get slapped!

Not to mention in some of the photos you can see he "painted" some of the cars with his poor excuse for a child's idea of a paint scheme.

Surely it's just a rev Jackson head?

I'd love one of the Max finishes on a Dinky or Soloist.. I dig the art style. Not what you'd typically find on a guitar, let alone a Jackson.

So, how's it feel to get your Vette's doors blown off by a GIRL in a Mustang at the stoplight?
Sorry for the thread hijack guys but there's just no stopping a Ford vs. Chevy debate

I have no idea how that would feel.

Look at the angle of the strings after they pass the nut going towards the tuners. On a regular reversed headstock only the high E keeps a straightish angle and all the rest have an sharp angle towards the left. In this case they are all staying nearly straight and lined up as if they were going down the neck, except for the High E.

I hope that makes a bit of sense. I'm looking at that picture and using my COW6 as a reference for a regular reversed headstock. There is a distinct difference if you see them side by side.

I like it. Speaking of graphics, check this out (not a Peter Max, but still a very cool graphic):

Any idea how many of these were made?
