The Soloists? About... 4 months? Paid less than MAP but not a ton... It's hard to bargain much when you're special-ordering though, not like "Well you've had that for a long time because it's ugly, and I don't even want it, but I GUESS I could give you $1000 for it..."

Yeah, I'm sure your discount is much less, but I assume there is maybe 20% discount. Of course their asking prices are going to be brutal as you said you have no bargaining power.

850 is a great price. The headstock issue is a shame, but that's life. You have a great guitar for a great price, and it's already got an issue so you can gig it and not worry. It's what I did....

.....until I sent the guitar back to the factory to get it fixed under warranty.

Guitar is brand new and factory fresh. Not concerned at all about the headstock. The pics don't do it justice, beautiful guitar, the tone is amazing. My first DK1 and might not be my last.

I had the same issue on my BCSB DK1 last year. Had to send it back to Jackson to be repaired. I sold it shortly afterwards for 1250.00.

Thanks for the info. I am going to investigate a warranty claim on it. See what happens. If I can get it fixed for free, that's got my name all over it.

If you have the receipt, no problem. You'll need to take it to a authorized jackson dealer or repair shop to get it done.
