  • SL1 without the "made in USA"

    Hello,

i've found a second hand snow white SL1 (serial U123xx) to sell. i've received some pictures showing a nice axe. The headstock in white also (whch is nice) instead of the usual Black, but there is no "made is USA" on the headstock, just the Jackson logo. sound strange....

What do you think of that ?

    thanks !

That does sound strange. If it weren't for the serial starting with a "U," I would be thinking it's an SL3.

EDIT: What about the bridge? Original Floyd or JT-590?

That serial should be about a 2003 USA neck-through of some kind.

Matching HS? Maybe some sort of limited run or something? But, it definitely should say "Made in USA" on the HS.

Could be a fake or a re-finished guitar... Post the pictures!

ahem i mean to buy sorry

yes....it's a shop with new owner it seems he doesn't know anything to jackson. i had him on the phone and he didn't knew where was the serial, he didn't knew it's a neck thru etc.... so it's a potential steal
              BUT this headstock story...

That logo looks weird, like the headstock was refinished over it.

I think it's a mother of pearl logo on a white headstock.

It looks pretty legit otherwise, has a proper serial number, but potentially someone has done something to the headstock, like... I don't know, sanded it down and painted it white?

Yeah, it does seem like the MOP logo. Never seen that on a white headstock, so it does look like someone painted white over it. Strange.

I don't like that. It sounds like there is a broken headstock + refinish, otherwise why doing a refinish ?

I bet it was repainted. it's easy to get a new jackson logo, but harder to do the made in U.S.A. logo and make it look legit.

Looks like somebody didn't like the black headstock and sprayed it white so it'd match the body.
