How is that PC-2 custom shop? Meaning, how is it different than the standard PC-2 models that were made? Or were they all considered "custom shop"?

By the looks of it, different headstock, no sustainer or Dimarzios, Wilkinson Tremolo...

I meant how is it different than other PC-2 models, not the PC-1. I think all PC-2s had the Wilkinson and no sustainer.

Here's my CS Soloist. Originally had White Blackouts for the pickups that matched the body, but I recently swapped them for some DiMarzios. Got a Crunch Lab in the bridge and LiquiFire in the neck.

It's got "Custom Shop" printed on the headstock.

I really don't know that much about the model. I came across mine second hand, I didn't order it myself. That said, I consider myself lucky to have found it because it is a very fine instrument.

I always figured the PC-2 was never a production model. Just custom order. The PC-1 is the only one I've ever seen in catalogs. There was also an import model PC-3, which I may have seen in a catalog once. but I've never seen the PC-2 listed as a production instrument.

The Sustainor in the PC-1 would be a cool toy. Handy in certain situations. But I like the fact that the PC-2 is just a straight-ahead, passive, well thought out and well built guitar. I also think the Dimarzio Super 3 in the PC-1 would be cool for heavier stuff, but isn't the right choice for the more mainstream rock I usually play. My PC-2 arrived with a Duncan Custom 5 in the bridge position, which the seller informed me wasn't original, and since then I've tried a couple of other pickups. It now has a creme PAF Pro, which I think sounds really good in that guitar.

Kosh, I think I remember reading on here that the PC-2 was a Guitar Center exclusive and that they all had "Custom Shop" on the headstock, but I'm not 100% sure on that so that's why I asked. It's definitely an awesome guitar. I've got Wilkinson trems on two of my guitars. In fact, the only reason I've never picked one up is because I prefer 2 humbuckers. Still, I've been very tempted whenever they come up on ebay, which is not very often.
