Wow, on the Soloist is that really Ebony? Looks more like rosewood, but the back is really dark. Does the ebony (or rosewood) run all the way to the end of the body (i.e. sandwiched between the body wood and top wood...same way they do with maple necks and so forth)? Would be interesting to see a butt shot of the body.

thanks, the solist has got a brazilian rosewood on fingerboard and top, they had an old piece of wood, the body is mahogany, the ebony neck thru and the logo is in koa. as soon I post a pic of the butt

Holy cow. I can't imagine what that guitar must have cost. Just the brazilian rosewood top would cost a ton. Also must be rather heavy guitar in weight. Honestly, I've seen a ton of guitars from different brands over the years and I NEVER remember seeing a guitar with such a rare/beautiful/unique wood combination. Man, after reading about the Gibson raid, you'd have to have documentation out the wazoo to cross borders with that guitar. It's like the poster guitar for rare woods. But it is awesome!

ebony neck

Very cool.. especially the wood based soloist.. Cool to see the ebony neck was hidden so well on the back.. Do you have a pic of the back end of the body by chance? And is that a Kelly/Warrior combo at the top? Great body design and great choice of color and pinstripe; including the custom inlay.. some sweet axes!
