  • Why no Floyds with SLS headstocks?

I've noticed that current Jackson models that feature the SLS headstock (e.g. the KV2T, the SLS3 soloist, and the SLSMG super lightweight soloist) never seem to have a Floyd Rose bridge on them. Has Jackson ever put them together? I'm guessing one could get this on a custom shop model, but it bugs me that I've never seen it on normal production models. If anyone has pics of this, please post them!

There was indeed a blue custom shop SLS for sale on ebay a couple of years ago that had a floyd. It was being discussed here, probably in the E-fraid part.

      Found the thread:

      http://www.jcfonline.com/threads/839...me-all-over-it...

No pictures of it, though, only an ebay link. I don't know if there's any way to look old stuff up on ebay?

Well, that SOUNDS cool... If only I could SEE some pictures of it! I'm kind of "E-fraid" of having to browse the forum for hours looking for said thread.

One reason is that the SLS headstock was designed for use with a V-trem, you'll notice that the stings are straight on the headstock to reduce friction in the nut when using a non-locking trem, this makes the tuning more stable than the Jackson 6-inline pointy headstock combined with a V-trem

i think one of the first models it was on was the AT-1 from '96/'97 which was available with a Wilkinson non-locking trem, there is an explanation about the headstock design in the '96 or '97 catalog from memory

Some people have ordered CS models with the SLS headstock, do a search for a War angel in the forum, white custom Warrior with 1 pickup. gold floyd and SLS headstock, killer looking guitar

The USA Super Dinky of the mid 90's used that headstock with an actual Floyd Rose.
              "Got a crazy feeling I don't understand,
              Gotta get away from here.
Feelin' like I shoulda kept my feet on the ground

If that was a Soloist rather than a Dinky, it would be nigh perfection!
