Yes, and they can show that they exported the guitar out of the EU before they imported it back again. It is a criminal offense not to declare items with customs. Trust me on this one.

BTW, I took my custom shop Soloist on the plane with me. It was a bit of a hassle to get it on board. I image that the KV2 case will be a bit bigger, so that may be an issue.

Spare us the preaching, please. You can't possibly travel very often if you really think people really do the paperwork for everything valuable they bring with them, including laptops, electronics, or whatever when they go traveling. Those principles don't just apply to guitars, you know.

Once at checkin in the states they asked if I wanted fragile stickers for my guitar case. When I said yes, I had to sign a waiver saying that I acknowledged that it was fragile goods and they therefore could not assume the responsibility for its safety. That's when they broke the case

I do travel on a regular basis and I certainly do know cutoms on a professional basis. We are not talking about relatively small items like a laptop, but expensive guitars that really stand out. But hey man, take your chance and be my guest to find out for your own. Just don't advise people on this like it is no big deal, because it is. Perhaps Denmark is really relaxed on this, but I highly doubt it.

Are you for real? What is the differentiating factor? Size, price? A high-end MacBook Pro costs as much as a Jackson. You are changing your argument constantly. And try reading what I wrote earlier in this thread (again) before lecturing me - obviously, you can't read between the lines.

If you have the money, I'd go for the KV2. As for transporting it back to Sweden, you'll need to buy a flight case, a regular hardshell plastic case will be a bit iffy if you take it back in a commercial airline holding bay. I'd actually suggest that you have your friend buy a guitar for you in the US and then ship it to you. Yes, you'll have to pay some VAT/import duties, but you also won't have the hassle of worrying if your guitar got smashed on the flight home. Also, a flight case that's made out of aluminum would be pretty expensive to fit a King V. Either buy a flight case and bring back with you, or buy it and ship it via UPS back home.

As for dealing with customs, you might have to pay import duties on it and declare it as a new item. Or your friend could just say "Oh, this is just my guitar," but it would put him at risk of facing some fines if he were to lie about the value, and the item being used, IF the customs agents decide to check the guitar.

Safest way would probably be to ship it home.

Are you still sore because you lost a soccer game? You should lighten up my friend. I took the courtesy to warn the OP here about customs (via replies to your post). You experience that as a lecture, fine by me. I'm not going to debate this any further. Peace to all.

Here you are changing the topic yet again. If you can't beat them one way, do it the other, is that it? You gotta win, somehow? Ask algeriet who he thinks has helped him out here.

No, that was a joke, not a tpoic change. And because you made a point of reading between the lines i thought you could see that, silly me. I just pointed out customs law. I didn't write those laws, so it is not a matter of winning. Get over the butthurt and move on.

No, but you made a big point out of repeatedly stating the obvious, then telling the guy that he wouldn't get away with it and that, if he did, it would be illegal making brash statements contrary to fact. It was quite clear that your aim wasn't to help the guy.

You just contradicted yourself within this post but also in relation to your previous ones. Apparently it is all so obvious to you that you have to debate it (pun intended). Twist it around all you want, I'm not gonna waste more time on this. Take a retalin and chill. Enuff said.

Nice try, but the obvious part was that it's illegal, which I never contested. Get off your high horse.

Wow, there's more to you than the holier-than-thou? That cartoon strip is pretty funny, though.
