New Jackson on way, not sure about EMG's

EMG humbuckers--are they active or passive? I've had active EMG's before. It's just personal preference, but I prefer passive pups. EMG's are kind of sterile sounding to me and the modded ones have too much gain. Somebody on the JCF posted I didn't have them EQ'ed correctly--maybe so. Let us know if you like them after you've had a chance to put this guitar through its paces. Great looking instrument btw.

If you don't like the EMGs, you can always switch them out. It would require getting new pots as well though.

Me too! I suspect I will re wire her for '59 neck and JB bridge. I'm more of a VINTAGE guy than METAL. I have owned several Les Paul's and this is the closest I will come to my desires!! Hope the neck profile fits!!Won't be home until Sat.
