  • NGD- Jackson PC1 in chameleon finish

2010 Jackson PC1, Mahogany body, quilted maple top, flame maple fingerboard over a quartersawn maple neck. floyd rose and an awesome sustainer unit. "chameleon" finish. Green turning to purple depending on light angle. here's a quick video I took showing the color fade on different incident light.

this is my second PC1.. I also have a 2002 PC1 in chlorine which has a quilted maple neck but has the old style headstock (not like the new ones shaped like a strat). enough blabbering.. on to the pics

pic of the old and the new..

figured it was time for a new family photo

Always wondered how that finish "moved" with the light. That short video rocks - thanks for that!

      And very nice guitars. Congrats.

I like how they move the volume knob more out of the way. Those PC1's look really nice.

Man those look great. Headstock and looks really classy with gold hardware.
Those are pretty hard to get if you live in Finland..
              Stronger than all!!

I must say that you seem to have every guitar I've ever wanted...

...ah, you don't have neither any RRs nor Explorers :>

The heck is that weird paisley star-inlaid thing, man?

thats amazing. Its always awesome to see what they are able to do with new groundbreaking finishes. The chameleon paint technology used to only be able to be done in a solid finish due to the way the paint was formulated. Id be very interested to see how this finish differs in how it works to standard opaque flip flop colors like the dupont chromalusion. It would seem as if they added the powder version of a flip flop color from house of Kolor to a clearcoat. Very unique idea. And a Very nice guitar.

Very nice man. My collection is starting to look like yours. I love a varied collection...nothing like having lots of different types of guitars.
I will say...it's my opinion if you don't have a PC-1 in your collection, your collection is not complete.
I am curious though...is the back of your PC-1's a satin...or is it lacquer finished? The natural is a satin finish...I've been curious about the other PC-1s. The chlorine looks like it's lacquered based on your pics...
I'd also like to know what that is right under your So Cal...it looks familiar, but I can't place it???

I bought a natural PC-1 and I love it...but I will say...as I see more and more of these, I WANT THEM. I saw a 'Mocha' not too long ago, and I just fell in love. The blue (Chlorine) that you have is stunning. And this Chameleon is just off the charts cool. I'm not a big fan of the special paint jobs...like the adrenalize or the the other one...what's it called...with the robot on it??? No offense to those who have those guitars...they're certainly nice...and I know you pay a premium for them...they're just not my cup of tea. The stock PC-1 colors are just amazing though...and this one certainly stands out. Nice axe man!

back of pc1 (body) is poly finish, gloss. the neck is oiled. same with my '02 PC1. I would like to see one of those natural PC1s in person, i've heard they are amazing feeling due to the oiled body (vs painted on the other colors)
