The only way I know to test that is to put the neck in a vice and rock back and forth on the headstock. Which, if you attempt at the GC, might get you roughed up a bit.

GC has a return policy... I saw this guitar online, too.

I thought I said already the original trem was probably a JT6 and that this guitar still had the JT6 trem post.

I should have looked closer to see if the OFR nut was aftermarket. I don't remember seeing screw holes in the headstock. They might have been plugged and touched up. The missing truss rod cover kind of gives it away, because it would have been the behind the nut lock shaped one.

That Jackson is still sitting there. The web site was $399, and I had the GC $50 off coupon, and I still couldn't pull the trigger. I bought a USA BCR ST-III today, so there goes my wad for a while.

349 gets a Yeah Baby from me!

I love this. As soon as I'm out of money, everything in the world I want suddenly goes for sale.

Although I would've gotten the ST-III instead. It is snake skin.

That was basically my decision. It was this, the Red BCR in good shape with case, or the snakeskin in rough shape no case.

                  All three guitars were USA.
All had 22 fret dot rosewood fretboards.
All three necks were oiled finish with quarter-sawn maple. The Jackson had the fastest neck, baby butt smooth.
                  All three had H-S-S setups.
All three had the three mini toggle switches.
All were similar in price - the sub-$500 range.

I really love graphics and went with the snakeskin for $400.

$400 for a graphics ST-III is a great score IMO. Nice job!
