  • NGD - 1997 PC1, Koa goodness!

1997 Jackson PC1, Solar finish. Koa body. sick guitar. Came in today, smelled like bad cologne so i steel-wooled the neck and applied some gunstock oil, then wooled it again.. until nice and smooth. then a full setup was in order

interesting, the bridge pup on this one is a Dimarzio Double Whammy - which is a custom shop pickup. Wonder if the old PC1s used to come with that one before the Super 3's?

blah... enough talking... time for pics!

          That PC1 looks really familiar......

Did the Floyd Rose Upgrades Big Block come with it and who strung it up with the ball ends like that?

          Damm sweet guitar!!!!!

Those Koa's are so rare too!

Yep the block came with it. I string all my trem guitars like that though. If you think you may be a previous owner please pm me.. have some questions. Like to know its history, etc.

It's got more mids, slightly less bottom end. I'd say about the same highs as the others. I don't know if its due to the koa or the double whammy pickup. Its differen't but not necessarily better/worse. just different, and I dig it!

I have a photo showing the backsides of these all in one pic. You can definitely see the change in wood quality over the years. The modern ones do not have anywhere near as nice figuring on the mahogany, and the tops can be hit or miss. Its hard to source quality tonewood , guys like PRS have been stockpiling / hoarding for years.
