Thanks guys. Good to know about the Fender thing. And also thanks for the heads up on that student model. I probably would've bought it thinking it was a custom shop guitar, not a cheaper model.

I'm really hoping I can find a nice white one with pin stripes. Or the black ones with white bevels or pin stripes are also very classy.

Actually found something completely different from what I was looking for (paint scheme wise), it's a lightning sky RR1, serial number u02915. Am I correct in that dates it at 1994? The guitar is for $950, which is lower than I've seen the RR1's go for. Are the 90's guitars cheaper, or is this a decent price?

That serial is for a 94, you can check serial number info at Jackson's website. Where did the serial number info go on this site? I can't find it.

Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.

Yup, I checked it on Jackson's site. But being a noob, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making any costly mistakes.

What do you guys think? Is that a good deal? It appears to be in very nice condition.

Also has Bill Lawrences in it (not sure which BL.. but if they were put in in the 90's probably the good ones)

Not bad, pretty cool graphic, too.

I need to call and find that out. Without a case then it's only an average deal I suppose.

EDIT: Jackson hardshell included. Shipping of about $30. With this price, I think I have just enough to actually buy it now rather than wait for my guitar to sell. Might be buying my first Jackson tonight..

One last time, you guys say the '90's should be good right? Because that's one of the reasons drawing me to this guitar so much, for some reason I just like the last century. And this'll put me at one guitar from the '70's, one from the 80's, one from the 90's, and one from the 00's.

I'm backing out. I just can't pull the trigger. It's a sweet guitar, great deal, great condition, cool graphics. But I'm just thinking once the feeling of 'new guitar' wears off I'm going to wish I had a white one like I originally wanted.

I have had this internal conversation with myself before so understand where you are coming from. Just consider that in a couple of months while you are still waiting for that perfect paintjob, you may wish you pulled the trigger on a nice USA axe with a graphic. I let a few 'get away' over the years and still think about occasionally. Did you get a chance to plug it in and play it? That is usually the decision maker for me.

Hey, I hear where you're coming from man. It's hard to turn down, but really it was only the price drawing me to it. If it was a custom graphic, I'd grab it. But it's just the factory graphic that they've been doing for years. Very nice, but I'm just going to sit and wait for the right guitar. and it's across the country from me, so I can't play it.

EDIT: another thing... how much of a difference playability wise would the early 80's custom shop guitars have? I found one made in '84 that the guy had custom made from the san dimas shop. Feature wise, it's a bit off from what I'm looking for. But if they're real players, it might be worth considering.
