Yeah, that was in my "I'm growin' it back out!" stage. Summer 2004 sounds about right!

That is one kick ass King V. Nice pick on the paint job. That red ghost flame is beautiful. That would be a nice production scheme. Also, nice to have just the volume knob. Now you don't have the typical volume and tone "protecting" the toggle switch.

At the time I bought it from Kevin Easton he was telling me that this red with white/silver ghost flames is copyrighted by him. Supposedly Jackson won't/can't do another without his permission. Don't know how true this is but it really is stunning to look at
I didn't come up with this paint scheme btw, it was Easton Guitars idea. I saw he had it for sale and went for it when it was brand new

Thing I really liked about that KV was that it was non-bevelled. It's a sweet one, for sure.

Thanks Sully. Funny thing is for the last few weeks, before this thread started, I've been considering gigging it. Up until now its been a home only guitar. Every now and then I get the urge to gig out another Jackson/Charvel from the collection

Just like the Kelly, there are actually 3 different sizes of King Vs. Originally it was the Double Rhoads for Robbin Crosby and Dave Linsk(sp?). It was quickly downsized to a smaller V and then once again late 80's downsized to the current size. The way I like to refer to them is:

                              King Kelly
                              Kelly
                              Dinky Kelly

                              Double Rhoads
                              King V
                              Queen V

                                Come to Mazrim.

And all King Vs are for men. But men on the move. Like a travel DR.
All men play on 10. Never gonna turn down again.
