That is one kick ass King V. Nice pick on the paint job. That red ghost flame is beautiful. That would be a nice production scheme. Also, nice to have just the volume knob. Now you don't have the typical volume and tone "protecting" the toggle switch.
At the time I bought it from Kevin Easton he was telling me that this red with white/silver ghost flames is copyrighted by him. Supposedly Jackson won't/can't do another without his permission. Don't know how true this is but it really is stunning to look at
I didn't come up with this paint scheme btw, it was Easton Guitars idea. I saw he had it for sale and went for it when it was brand new
Thing I really liked about that KV was that it was non-bevelled. It's a sweet one, for sure.
Thanks Sully. Funny thing is for the last few weeks, before this thread started, I've been considering gigging it. Up until now its been a home only guitar. Every now and then I get the urge to gig out another Jackson/Charvel from the collection
Just like the Kelly, there are actually 3 different sizes of King Vs. Originally it was the Double Rhoads for Robbin Crosby and Dave Linsk(sp?). It was quickly downsized to a smaller V and then once again late 80's downsized to the current size. The way I like to refer to them is:
