  • Dinky JL?? Help with identification

Saw this on craigslist and couldn't locate any info on it. But I figured I'd consult the experts to see what it is and how much people think it's worth. I'm not sure I'm interested as I have $$ tied up in other things (guitars) right now, but if people think it's something worth snatching up, I could reconsider things!

I'd be careful...never seen the "Made In USA" logo placed there.

Mahogany neck? Yet he doesn't show any pictures of the back of the neck...

        It's a 1996 DR2.
        The logo is correct.
        The board is Ebony btw.

The placement of the Made In USA is not correct. It should be after the N and not underneath the logo.

Don't make me have to post a pic from the 1996 catalog Joe.

Jackson has placed the "MADE IN U.S.A." UNDER the Jackson logo on several production model guitars.
            The SDK1, AT1, TH2, DR2, SS1, SS2 and so on.

Correct, and this was also done with the LTD '88 guitars. There's always weird variations on what most would call the standard procedures with Jackson.

Well, damn! I swear I've seen other DR2s with the Made In USA after the N like normal.

Looks like in 1997 they moved it back to the "normal" position.

Man, I am always so impressed with the guitar detectives in here.

Thanks for the info. Still looks like maybe a guitar that's seen better times...the finish itself looks odd to me. I know value is relative, but does anyone think what he's asking is good or bad? like I said, not really looking to add unless it's something special...

It was a budget model USA guitar with an import JT580LP trem and had Armstrong pickups, but seems they're now replaced by a DiMarzio and Duncan. The body is ash with a matte satin finish. Seems like a great price to me for a USA guitar.

Agreed... $350 even with some wear is still a great price.
