  • USA Select colours.

Have they all been reduced significantly? I remember a time when the colours list was the length of your arm.

I'm after a Jackson KV2 in Ferrari Red, but been told unless I want either black or snow white it's a custom shop job with a £3500 price tag.

Yowzers. Is that really the case?

Whilst I'm here, anyone in the UK have a good lead on USA Jackson stockists? I found Rich Tone Music. They seem cool, anyone like them?

That's bullshit, there are lots more colors

Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.

However, unfortunately Ferrari Red doesn't seem to be one of them. So, as I understand it, they are right about the Custom Shop thing.

Their guitars always seem a bit on the high side, pricewise. But thats new guitars for you.
Dont bother with Denmark street as it's now pathetic.

You could always look out for a second hand KV2 and have it refinished. That will be less than half the price of a new custom.
Say, circa £800-£900 for a KV2 (might have to be a little patient) and a few hundred for a new paintjob. I know Sims would do it for you but there's probably a few more around.

I have a snakeskin KV2 but it would have to be one hell of an offer to convince me to sell

      Good luck.

Hmmm... I may just review my colour choice. Anyone have a lead on a good UK guitar store for Jackson Selects?

I live in North Herts. I've tried a few people local but they only really deal with imports. Anything USA is North of £2500. Like I say, I found that Rich Tone site via reading some posts, so may give them a swing. They have a couple of pieces more sensibly priced. Just wondered if anyone knew any other UK dealers with decent in-stock stuff.

I bought all 3 of my USA Jacksons via ebay, 2 of which were from a member here, PhantomHawk. Why pay top whack when you can use patience and save money at the same time? Even after import tax and VAT, you still save around 50% or more buying used.
                Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

O.K, well, look at the link I posted and see where is close to you.
If you're expecting a shop with a fully extensive range of USA Jacksons, forget it.
Jacksons US guitar presence is absolute bollocks in this country.
You'll find the odd (new) guitar and it will be usually pretty standard and one of a big run. Nothing too exotic.

All 3 of my Jackson US guitars came from the States either directly or I bought them from people who had just bought them back from the States.
However, there are a number of dealers who will sort you out at a price if you have something specific in mind.
And I wouldnt suggest for one minute that there would be overseas dealers that get creative with export forms to declare a lower price in order to keep import tax down because that would be naughty. That doesnt happen at all.

Your best bet, if money is a problem, is to get the guitar you want used and then save up for a paint job.

                    LOL!

Aye, I know nobody's going to have an extensive range. Just wondering why one place is quoting £3k to order in even a stadnard black KV2 but rich tone have other USAs for £1500 - far more reasonable. Think I'll just start talking to RT.

That said, just noticed on the Jackson site that the RR1 does come in FR. So it's either the finish or the guitar I reckon. As it's my first USA, gotta do some thinking.

                    Cheers for your help guys!

The difference is that they have batches of guitars come over and go to different dealers who can offer a discount every now and then because they've bought a bunch or because they've been on sale for a while and havent moved. But if you want something specific the cost goes up to list price at least. Because it has to be sourced individually. Or, it has to be custom made in the custom shop, which means another few premiums on top.

Dude, if you want a Ferrari Red KV2 just get the first used KV2 you can find and have it painted. Any sprayshop could paint that colour for you, a piece of piss, even put a few pin stripes on it or something. And for way less than you'd pay for new one.

I'm probably daydreaming, but I wonder if I went proper custom shop, got a reverse headstock into the bargain too... what kinda cash would that take?

This is basically for my 30th coming up in the new year. Wanna get my first USA.
