  • Question about dinky neck plates...

Hi, I'm new here and in these days I'm searching for a USA made dinky...Not easy here in Italy.

I saw that some dinkys have a neck plate with write "Made in USA" and other with write "Ontario CA" or something like that...Why??

Another question, in the Jackson homepage there's a section whith the serial numbers of USA guitars till 2002...How to date a post 2002 dinky? Are there other page with serial numbers list?

    Thank you!!

The different neckplates represent different eras (i.e. factories) of USA made guitars. There are some overlaps, but the plates went San Dimas, Ontario, 'Made In USA'.

There's no official page to date guitars after 2002 as far as I know.
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable

So, the post 2002 are made in a different factory, or in the same Ontario factory?

They've moved to the Fender plant in Corona now. I'm not sure when that move happened though, but I'd guess 2003 or 2004..
