You're comparing a 2000$ guitar to a 40 000$ sports car? You do see the difference between a fancy sports car and a guitar right? Does anyone take you seriously lol? I was just messin' around with you anyways dude. I agree, in a way. You just have to admit some lucky sucker will get a nice axe for a lower price. He'll be posting about it here, might mention the issues and everyone will say ''hey nice guitar dude''....

Oh well, different strokes for different folks.
A Camaro is a fancy sports car?

Does anyone take YOU seriously? Nah, don't answer that, we know the answer is "No." :ROTF:

I like guitars I don't have to care about just fine. A few dents and dings? No problem, when I buy them used and cheap, after people have banged them into a mic stand after one too many beers, that's fine. Or, when I'm looking for a "20 footer" and I buy a blem, knowing it's a blem, and I get a discount.

But when I buy a brand new guitar, I want it done right.

I agree that a guitar thats brand new should be perfect, $200 or $2000. I also agree its not all looks that count, however, I cry inside when I chip a pointy part on any of my guitars, especially the headstock, and I wont buy a used Jackson that has a noticeably chipped headstock point(like wood missing, paint chips are cool, thats why god made black nail polish).

Learn to read bro...I didn't say anything about fancy, but with a quarter mile ranging in 12.4 - 12.9 seconds, this car has enough balls to call itself a sportscar. Hell of alot sportier than what most guys can afford. 2000$ guitars can be picked up by an 18 year old with no credit history on an in house financing. I'm not saying it's crap, but you can't compare apples to gold chains lol.

Either way dude, i was just messing around, but it's obvious now that you think I'm serious lol. My bad. You're a cool dude and we usually get along lol. Anyways, don't take it too seriously man. It's just a forum. lol

Nah, I'm just fucking with you man, no worries.

I mostly agree with what you're saying- I buy guitars to play, not for trophies. But I do like them built with care and precision, so a little extra paint slopped somewhere pr a pube under the clear that "doesn't affect tone or playability" still bugs me. :dunno:

I wish i had smoked up... i would've at least had an excuse for that lol. Oh well, Brain fart is the next best thing lol. I understand you too. I guess i just changed a lot and began to appreciate the feel and tone more than i did the finish. However, there are some guitars that i would want to be pristine. It's just, i find that i play bad on new guitars. Mostly because i am afraid of letting loose on them. I don't know if thats uncommon. Especially new SL1's or SL2H's. They are such gorgeous guitars and have this lustrous clear all over. I feel bad just putting my dirty fingers on them, so them i play them too gently and i never get to appreciate the tone and feel because im just worried about if pressing too hard on the frets will scratch the ebony lol. I have issues. However, i have this old 90's professional soloist Student that has clear chips here and there and has been played. However the neck is still pristine and the fretboard is delicious. So i guess i don't worry about wailing on it since its already fucked up haha. Oh well.

Anyways nice chatting with you guys!

PS like everyone else said, post pictures !

Oh, yeah, I get that "Oh wow new guitar... CAREFUL!" thing going for a little while. I loved my old SL2, it was pretty beat but still sounded and played well. But I figure my SL2H will get beat and worn-in if I keep playing it for 10 or 15 years.

Not so fast......this guitar will be re-listed by someone as being relic'd with a $4,500 price tag.

Gotta see the damage to call it...but hey, if you gig out with it, you might bash it around so much that you'll forget it....lol
If it was a CS, yeah, I could see the anger more, but from what you described, I've seen LPs and Strats with more sloppy joe work on them than that.....

But where the #&*! is my pick again??

For what opinions are worth, i wouldn't tolerate a "very noticeable" cosmetic flaw in any new guitar regardless of price, unless it was a unique instrument that i really wanted, in which i probably wouldn't care much - just enough to haggle! The paint might be slightly not perfect at one spot on my RR24 bevels, but i can't see it if i squint. It is good .

Yeah, i'd like to see pics too!

I dont think the OP is being that picky for a guitar of this supposed quality or caliber, I wouldnt have payed the cut down rate I did for my SL2H if it had binding and glue issues like that...

Still pics would be nice, to see how bad the guitar is, is it just the binding/glue issues?

TBH your probably best off just returning to the Dealer and finding a better one who wont just sell you a guitar that is bstock for astock prices...

I can imagine how dissapointed you are though, the binding shouldnt have left the factory like that.

ive seen flawless jacksons and ive seen some that were so aweful I would have been ashamed if it was my first build. That being said even though jacksons are actually on the lower side price wise for a quality USA made guitar it doesnt change one simple fact. That is you shouldnt be able to go to guitar center and pick an LTD or schecter off the wall and have the cosmetics be spot on for less than half of what these guitars cost. Most of us buy an american made product with the expectation that it will be sonically and cosmetically above an overseas counterpart. For $2000 it should not have those blemishes. No one here would go out and buy a brand new car with a dent in it or a huge scratch without asking for a discount and just amount it to "well its gonna happen sooner or later." Their is also a difference between playing your guitars and abusing them. Their is no reason why you shouldnt be able to play your heart out and have passion for your music and not take care of your instrument and keep it in good condition. For those who dont mind a beat up guitar and equate that to it being a real instrument then thats fine and your thing. But you shouldnt discount someone elses approach and think that there way is any less valid just because its not your way. That just comes down to personal preference and I dont think anyone should be labeled any name just because they take pride in keeping their guitars in pristine condition. My advice is get another guitar. Dont think you cant have a jackson that isnt spot on. There are plenty of them out there. You paid alot for quality so get the quality you expect and dont settle. Settling is to say its ok for companies to let things like that go.

Well said. I sadly went through a few Jacksons with issues before I finally got my SL2H. I'm also an Ibanez player, and I never had to send one of those back.
Some companies can get away with this lack of quality control a little more with their revered brand reputations and all,,,but it doesn't make it right.

Was this guitar ordered or bought from a shop display? And yes, if you're gonna whinge about something, then pics are in order.
