  • How to spot the difference between the USA PC2 and the imported version please?

I might have a line one a PC2 with the Wilkinson trem. I know that there was a very limited USA run made for Guitar Center. How does one tell them apart from the imports?

Aside from backplates I would assume?

It's been a while, but as I recall the 'PC2' had a CS logo on the head, and the PC3 had Duncan Designs. Plus most PC3s have the Floyd knock-off, not the Wilkinson..
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Also, wasn't the PC2 only available in some shade of red or am I mistaken?

Umm... they never made an import PC2.
The one Guitar Center sold was also not a production model, it was a limited run.

The only import PC model was the PC3
The early PC3 had a Wilkinson and it was changed to a JT-580LP in 2000.

Nobody here ever said that the PC2 was an import. He's trying to differentiate the PC2 from the PC3.

            The thread title implies it.

We all know what he meant, though.

Yes thats right, it's not "anal retentive", it's "detail oriented".
