  • Is this Absinthe Frost?

    Dinky from around 2005:

    "Got a crazy feeling I don't understand,
    Gotta get away from here.
Feelin' like I shoulda kept my feet on the ground
Waitin' for the sun to appear..."

I actually think that is Candy Green. Absinthe Frost is more lime colored.

Seriously? I'm wrong then, I just went on the Jackson page and checked the finishes for the DK1, the only one like that was the Absinthe Frost finish so I thought it would be that?

          Sorry.

Yes, that is too dark for AF.
            I like EL34s.

Not AF. AF is more limey UV colored.

its a custom color. metallic Green. AF does not have metal flakes in it and it is a lighter color. . Your DK1 looks like a custom.

edit--my bad, that is a DARK AF..lol.. can you pm me the serial # charvel?... on the color chart it does look like it has metal flakes. we rarely get production DK's that look like yours. so I am thinking it is a custom shop.

Not a custom color. It's candy apple green, which was available on USA Selects around then. Not too many were done in that finish, but you can see it in the catalogs listed as an available finish from that timeframe.

See the available finishes page (second from last) in the 2003 catalog here. (The little color swatches always look different than the actual finish, but that's definitely it.)

Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.

I agree. I don't like the AF but that is sweet!

The sparkle size in AF is a little smaller than that. It's more of a 'sheen' than a 'sparkle' like that is. It's also a little lighter and more neon. Both it and agent orange are hard to properly capture in pictures. The way the light moves across the finish when the angle changes is very cool.
